Choosing The Right Credit Card Offer
There are a huge variety of credit cards out there to choose from so how do you decide? I can tell you this, don’t rush out and reply to the first credit card offer that you get in the mail. The difference between credit card terms can vary dramatically. When I was shopping around for a new credit card I decided that I would consider multiple options and investigate offers from several sources. What I found was shocking. There are a variety of credit card rewards programs available. Another thing that varied from offer to offer was the APR (credit card annual percentage rate). Your APR rate is the single most important aspect of the credit card terms. Also make sure that if you choose a card with a rewards program that you will actually use the benefits. Redeeming points for airline miles won’t do you any good if you rarely travel.
There are some things you need to watch out for. Do not apply with a company that makes you pay a credit card annual fee. Annual fees are a rip off and there are enough choices in the marketplace that even with bad credit you can get approved for a card without this fee. Many people make the mistake of thinking that if they have less than perfect credit that they have to settle for paying extra fees. Another thing to be on guard against is an introductory rate. Read the terms carefully because these introductory rates often skyrocket once the introductory period is over. Choosing the right credit card offer can be difficult and time consuming but can pay off big so shop around and choose wisely.
